Attention Members of the Region 10 Community
In order to support the new organizational structure of the NYC DOE, this Region 10 website will be replaced shortly by 3 websites specifically designed for the communities of CSDs 3, 5, and 6.  IMPORTANT UPDATE JUNE 8, 2007
If you have not responded or registered your child based upon receiving an offer to the District 3 Kindergarten Lottery Placement, District Gifted & Talented and/or Citywide Gifted & Talented program or Manhattan School for Children by Friday, June 8, 2007, please email Rosemarie Mazzone at rmazzon@schools.nyc.gov or fax to the attention of Rosemarie Mazzone at 917-521-3648 to indicate whether you are accepting the offer.
Round 2 begins the week of June 11, 2007. Clarification: Round 2 is the process that allows those students that are placed on HOLD or on a WAITLIST to be offered available seats after the initial round of placements.
If you are currently on HOLD or on a WAITLIST, you will be notified by USPS or by phone. Please note the District 3 Kindergarten Lottery will conclude on June 27, 2007, while the Gifted & Talented WAITLIST will be maintained until September 14, 2007.
Si usted todavia no ha contestado ó todavía no ha matriculado a su hijo/a pero ya recibió una oferta como resultado de la Loteria del Distrito 3 para el Jardin de Infancia (Kindergarten), ó del Programa para Niños Talentosos (Gifted & Talented) del Distrito ó de la Oficina Central, ó una carta de aceptación a la Manhattan School for Children, debe comunicar su decisión este viernes, dia 8 de junio de 2007, a lo más tardar. Si tiene cualquier pregunta, póngase en contacto con las señora Rosemarie Mazzone a rmazzon@schools.nyc.gov, ó por fax al número 917-521-3648.
La segunda ronda (Round 2) va a comenzar la semana del 11 de junio de 2007. La segunda ronda (Round 2) es el proceso por el cual se les hace una oferta de los puestos disponibles a aquellos niños que están en PENDIENTES ó en LISTA DE ESPERA.
Si usted esta en dicha situación, es decir PENDIENTE de nua resolución o en LISTA DE ESPERA, se le va a comunicar por teléfono o por correo (USPS). El proceso de la Loteria del Distrito 3 para el Jardin de Infancia (Kindergarten) se termina el dia 27 de junio. La LISTA DE ESPERA del Programa para Niños Talentosos (Gifted & Talented) queda abierta hasta el dia 14 de septiembre de 2007.
 Gifted and Talented Seat Offers
The Central Office of the New York City Department of Education has announced that score reports and acceptance/non-acceptance letters to K-3 District G&T programs and citywide schools will be sent the week of May 14, 2007. If you have been granted a K seat based on the District 3 lottery, you may wish to pre-register you child at his/her zoned school or the school assigned through the lottery. However, your child will not be bound by this pre-registration if he/she also receives and accepts a Gifted and Talented seat offer by mid-May.
La Oficina Central del Departamento de Educación ha anunciado quela semana del 14 de Mayo de 2007, va a mandar a los padres los reportes y las cartas de aceptación/rechazo para los programas de niños con aptitudes y talentos avanzados (Gifted and Talented) que ofrece el distrito, grados K-3 y las escuelas de la ciudad. Si usted tiene un cupo asignado en una escuela como resultado del sorteo de Jardín de Infantes del Distrito 3, puede pre-inscribir a su hijo/a en la escuela de su zona o en la escuela asignada como resultado de la loteria.Sin embargo, su hijo/a no está obligado/a a asistir a la escuela en la que se ha pre-inscrito, si usted recibe y acepta un cupo en el programadeniños con aptitudes y talentos avanzados(Gifted and Talented)a mitades de Mayo.

D3 Sibling Applicants (click here) - All sibling applications received by the January 12, 2007 deadline were awarded placement in the sibling's school. In order to be guaranteed a seat, non-zoned siblings must pre-register at their sibling's school no later than Friday, April 13, 2007.
Non-Sibling District 3 Applicants (click here) - If HOLD is next to your application number, this means based upon lottery ranking and schools chosen, we are unable to offer you a seat in one of your selected schools. In late April we will review applications, in lottery order listed, and offer seats that were declined in Round One. These offers will be made Friday, April 27, 2007.
